At Manthan, learning is not confined to the walls of the classroom. Students undertake various field trips and excursions to enhance their education and bring their lessons to life. This allows them to engage with the real world and understand the relevance of what they have learned.
To encourage students to develop important life skills such as teamwork, cooperation, and self-confidence and learn valuable leadership skills, overnight adventure camps were organised for Grades 5, 6, and 7. These camps provided an opportunity for the students to connect with their peers and experience simulated real-world situations.
Guided by trained professionals, students participated in various activities, including commando training, rappelling, zip lining, free falling, rope climbing, and team games. They also enjoyed fun energisers, a talent night, a bonfire, and an awards ceremony at the end of the camp.
Students are able to see different species of plants and explore their habitats.
To integrate their learning in topics related to Electricity, Sound, Light and Shadow, students get a chance to see discharge, plasma globe, sound vibrations, and wave patterns. They also see different types of light sources and working models that demonstrate the Laws of Reflection, Properties of Light, and Optical Illusions.
Students gain practical experience in various agricultural techniques used in the state. They explore dryland farming techniques, including drip irrigation systems. They also learn to pick fresh produce, make organic compost, and walk on muddy paths.
Our students visit places of historical significance, such as Chowmahalla Palace and NTR Gardens, to become familiar with the culture and heritage of Telangana and India.
Students observe distant planets, galaxies, and other outer space objects.
Students get an opportunity to observe animals and learn how each animal adapts to its surroundings and becomes part of a specific classification order.
Students learn about the benefits of renewable energy and see how they work.
Students visited IIT Hyderabad to see some of the Physics labs where experiments using various optical instruments were demonstrated. They themselves did a few simple ones too. The high point of the visit came after sunset when students went to the terrace to observe the night sky, specifically the Moon, Saturn, and Jupiter with its 4 moons via telescopes.
Students visited a one-of-a-kind handmade car museum. It features vintage and creative cars of all shapes and sizes, including vehicles designed to look like books, erasers, and cameras.
As part of the academic schedule, 8th and 9th-grade students go on an excursion once a year. This combines experiential learning with the excitement of travel, allowing students to meet new people, experience new places and cultures, and bring their classroom lessons to life. By doing so, they become more curious, open-minded, and socially responsible individuals.
